Ingredients

  • 300ml of cream
  • 200ml of milk
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1kg of potatoes

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Pour 300ml of cream in a bowl, add 200ml of milk, 2 finely chopped garlic cloves, 2 teaspoons of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, and mix everything together
  2. Slice 1kg of potatoes in a food processor or using a knife
  3. Pour some milk mixture you made earlier in a baking pan so it completely covers the bottom and place the first layer of potatoes on top
  4. Sprinkle the potatoes with some salt and pepper to taste
  5. Pour some more milk mixture on top and add another layer of potatoes
  6. Repeat these two steps until you run out of potatoes and milk mixture
  7. Put the potatoes in the oven and bake for 2-2,5 hours at 160C or 300F
  8. Serve your Gratin Dauphinois
